Until recently, I looked like a crazy bag lady at work. I’d carry one or two reusable tote bags of gear in addition to my work bag, barely squeezing onto crowded buses and the office elevator. I never saw myself as a “gym bag” person, but have realized how simply practical they are. While I have an old REI gym bag that is excellent for car camping and weekend trips, it is far too large to commute with on a daily basis. My fiance (now husband!) offered to let me borrow his simple Adidas bag – but it was too large as well. So, I began my hunt for a small, functional gym bag at a reasonable price.
I purchased the Polene Numero Un in Grey/Gris last month, after hearing initial positive reviews through social media. Originally, I was in the market for a new work bag that could carry a new Macbook Pro and a few other essentials easily. Unfortunately, this bag was just a tad too small for that (more details below), but I have been very pleased with it as an every day purse for everything else!
When Rothy’s announced their new sneaker style, I was intrigued and eager to give them a try. I love my Allbirds Tree Loungers, and was curious how this new washable style would compare! I also have a pair of Murakami Classic Vans that I love, but don’t nearly wear enough – and wondered where in the spectrum of slip-ons the Rothy’s sneaker falls. Read on for my initial impressions.
