Hello Summer with Everlane + Kitty and Vibe Swimwear

With summer nearly in full swing, it’s that time of year when I dust off my swimwear box and see if a) everything still fits and b) if I still feel comfortable in the same styles. Like with jeans, these days I find myself gravitating towards high-waisted (and more coverage) swimwear. Here are a few of what I’ll be wearing this summer:

Summersalt

If you’re looking for a compressive one-piece suit in solid and bold colors, look no further than Summersalt. I reviewed the popular Sidestroke and Swan Dive styles a few summers ago here. They’ve both held up well, and I expect to get at least another couple of summers out of these.

Everlane

For solid two piece basics, Everlane’s new swim line is great and is made of 82% recycled nylon. I have the Square Neck Top in black, which has a clasp closure in the back and also comes with removable modesty pads (something that most swimsuits lack these days). The simple style can also double as a sports bra if you don’t need too much support. One caveat: I did find the clasp can slide a little when moving around a lot (like stretching), so this might be one reserved for more relaxing days by the pool or beach.

Kitty and Vibe

Lastly, if you’re looking for feminine prints with a unique take on sizing, Kitty and Vibe is a new-to-me brand for this year. Pictured above are the Scoop Top and High Waisted Bottoms in a summery lemon print. When the team reached out to me, I was mainly intrigued by the additional sizes for their swimwear bottoms. Additionally, some of the prints like the Willow Vibe are also made of recycled materials.

For every standard size (S, M, L etc) they offer two options: 1 for a smaller booty and 2 for a larger booty. If you’re someone who has a hard time finding the perfect bikini bottom fit, these may be a great option. The size S2 fit me perfectly – I often run into waistbands dipping too low, or leg openings digging in, and had no issues with this fit! For reference, my waist is 26″ and hips are 36″. I love that more brands are releasing different fit styles, like Everlane with their curvy fit jeans.

Bonus! Kitty and Vibe is having a Memorial Day sale starting today 5/28 through 5/31 with 20% off sitewide (no code needed). If you’re stumbling onto this post after the sale, you can use my code KRISTY10 for 10% off.
