For those in a shopping mood, I’ve compiled a broad list of tried and true favorites – plus a few new additions.
Memorial Day Weekend Sales
Everlane
Everlane’s sale features hundreds of styles up to 30% off, for both women and men. It’s a great opportunity to stock up on staples like their Cheeky Jean, a high-waisted slim-straight silhouette that comes in multiple lengths. I just reviewed their racerback knit tank, which is on sale as well. For the past few summers, I’ve lived in my Easy Chino Shorts (my Stylebook stats confirm this!) – the slightly longer inseam Easy Short is included in the sale.
If you’re on the hunt to replace leggings or look for a new pair that’s comfortable enough for both sun salutations and takeoff/landing, the Perform 24/7 Legging is very similar to Lululemon’s Align leggings.
Elizabeth Suzann
I’ve loved seeing Elizabeth Suzann’s return with a low-key and subtly different approach. She has an intentionally modest sale section, with candles recently added at 40% off. The Woods scent is calling my name, I may end up snagging one or two of these. Each candle supports the Downtown Women’s Center in Los Angeles, helping women transition out of homelessness.
MATE the Label
If you’ve read my previous review, MATE makes my favorite sweats by far. Their entire site is 30% off, which is a great chance to snag fleece sweatpants (sometimes it’s still cold with the AC!) or in my case, a pair of fleece shorts to replace by very worn, decade+ old college shorts.
Taylor Stitch
The next few options are male-centric (though certainly they can be unisex!) – just in time for Father’s Day, or any other occasion in which you may want to shop for friends, family or partners.
Taylor Stitch is hosting a 20% off sale – we reviewed this San Francisco-based retailer a few months back. Their pieces have continued to hold up well, making it an extra great value when on sale!
Some favorites include: the Heavy Bag Tee (comes in a ton of colors), the Adventure Short, and Democratic All-Day Pant. There are several sweaters and jackets included in the sale as well.
Percival
Another men’s brand! This UK-based brand has simple, unique pieces that can be casual or dressed up at the same time. The launch of their Summer Sale just so happens to coincide with this holiday weekend.
Popular pieces include their embroidered t-shirt, this Dim Sum design is super cute. I have a tee in XS, which fits perfectly relaxed on me and is made from a nice mid-weight cotton. This bomber jacket is on sale in multiple colors. I’m sorely tempted by the green version myself, and the black version is a slightly different material and on steeper discount.
We had a chance to see their Summer Forager collection at their store in London. Unfortunately, the new collection is not on sale, but my husband picked up this super soft embroidered overshirt, and we admired the textured short sleeve shirts.
REI
REI’s annual anniversary sale runs through May 29th, with many popular items up to 30% off (and a 20% off full-price item for co-op members). Here are a few picks, while all are related to outdoors exploration, several are also useful for home!
We always bring a LUCI Solar Lantern + Charger on hiking and backpacking trips, and have found them more recently useful in the storm-caused power outages earlier this year in California. Relatedly, headlamps are also nice to have during a power outage. This Black Diamond one is affordable and does the trick.
REI has solid quality basics at a reasonable pricepoint with their private label items. This 2-person tent is great for anyone looking to try out camping for the first time. We’ve had our REI tents for years and they’ve lasted through a wide variety of conditions and uses. This extra lightweight backpack is my go-to for day hikes.
For narrow-footed ladies – these Sportiva trail runners are my absolute favorite hiking shoes. I’ve worn these backpacking 20+ miles in a day in Patagonia, and through all sorts of terrain.
Last but not least, we have two of these lightweight, quick-dry towels that are perfect for travel and take up minimal luggage space.
